For over 40 years Mind in Barnet has been providing mental health services to people living in Barnet borough. We have strong links with the local community and are tuned into people’s views and needs. We encourage mental health service users to share their opinions and hopes so that they can directly influence our policies and the services we provide.
As a small - but growing - flexible organization, we endeavour to respond imaginatively and effectively to requests and ideas for improvements.
Mind in Barnet believes that we must adapt to changing needs, as part of the modernising agenda. In order to do this we monitor our policies and services closely. We are always on the look out for ways to fill gaps in areas of need. We involve users, volunteers and professionals from within our organization and externally in our plans. As people with mental health problems move towards the goals they themselves have set, we are there to encourage and support them.
The role of Mind in Barnet is not only to provide services. In addition, we pioneer new ways of working, campaign for change, challenge accepted views and educate the local community on mental health issues. This is exciting work. We extend a welcome to people who are interested in mental health to join us as members of Mind in Barnet.
