Short Biography

Chand Payne BA (Hons)

Chand is qualified with a BA degree in Sociology. She has a Higher Diploma in Humanistic Counselling as well as an NVQ 3in Community Mental Health. Chand has a business background of 15 years and a diploma in retail management and distributive trades. Chand has completed a course in Leadership and Management training skills with Skills for Care & CSCI. She has Practice Teacher/Assessor Award from London South Bank University.

Chand has been working with Mind in Barnet since 2000. She worked as an administrator and joined the Befriending Service as a worker and then as a manager for 1 year. Since November 2008 Chand has been working as the Day Centre Manager for the Drop In, Outreach and Befriending service.

Kim Spicer
Counselling manager

Kim initially trained and  qualified as a RGN. She has an MSc in
Psychodynamic Counselling and a MA in Organisational Studies. She is a UKCP registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist and a BACP Senior Accredited
Practitioner. Kim has worked as a student counsellor in higher education and as a staff counsellor in the NHS. She is at present studying for a Professional Doctorate at the Tavistock in Organisational Theory and Consultation. She has been the manager of the Counselling Service at Mind since 2002.

Paul Moore
Advocacy Manager

Paul has been working in Mental Health Advocacy since February 2000 and has been the Manager at Mind in Barnet Advocacy since 2003.  Paul was a founding member of the Advocacy service at Broadmoor High Secure Hospital and had a special responsibility for patients from minority ethnic communities.

Paul is a former Mental Health Act Commissioner.  In his spare time Paul was responsible for bringing the first mental/human rights case to the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights.  Paul is a human rights Mental Health Consultant with the WHO (World health organisation).
