Covid-19 Bereavement Support and Counselling Service
During this difficult and sensitive time with the support of Public Health England and North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group and working together with Community Barnet we have put together a COVID-19 response service for individuals who are looking for bereavement support.
This service has been specifically set up with the Barnet community in mind; Mind in Barnet will be able to help support you with the following:
Brief emotional support:
Our aim is to offer you immediate (you will hear back from one of our trained counsellors within 1 working day) emotional support. This will consist of up to 4 sessions.
If it has been identified that further support is required, we can offer you a further 8 sessions of free bereavement counselling with one of our fully trained counsellors.
We are also able to refer you to more specialist mental health support as necessary
Through our partnership with Community Barnet, the service will be able to offer bereaved clients a variety of different offers of support:
- Provide information and signposting relevant to bereavement such as arranging death certificates, funeral services, and financial support. Residents will be able to refer themselves and leave messages seven days a week.
- Provide a social support service that could range from advising callers on where to seek information around bereavement related activities, as well as to up to date information and signposting with regard to existing and current Covid specific support.
