Employment Support

Due to the current situation regarding Covid19 Mind in Barnet is moving all of its services to remote working.

This means that all MiB services, including the Employment service will remain open.  I will be however working from home, providing telephone and email based Employment support.  You will still be able to contact me via email, and I will be able to provide you with a contact telephone number if required.  I will not be able to provide any face to face support for the time being.

In the meantime we will be working to provide a range of different resources for you to access such as free online courses and activities to use in order to ensure that we remain able to offer the highest level support possible, and respond effectively to the changing situations, and we will continue to keep you informed.

We know that finding work when you have a mental health problem can be a challenge.

Our Peer Support Employment Groups in West London are an employment project for local people with common mental health problems, such as anxiety or depression, who are looking for work.

We know other services can help you find work, but they don’t always understand the challenges of returning to work when you have a mental health problem. For example, you might feel nervous about where to start looking for job, or what to do in an interview.

We are here to give practical one-to-one support, as well as introducing you to other people with similar experiences, to give you the support you need on your journey back to work.

We can offer you support with:

  • Writing your CV
  • Job searching
  • Confidence building
  • Interview skills
  • Gaining new skills
  • Getting into training
  • Help from people in a similar situation
  • Wellness management
  • In-work support for up to six months

Who we can support:

This project is funded by Community Barnet and we are here to support people living in the London Borough of Barnet who are:

  • Living with a common mental health problem, for example, depression or anxiety
  • Over 18
  • Are eligible to work in the UK
  • Looking to find work
